Know a few facts about Mountain Rescue
Brush up on a few facts on the work of Mountain Rescue such as we also provide
a service to the rural and urban areas searching for children, despondent
and elderly. We provide an ambulance service when there is heavy snow. This
knowledge can persuade people as to why they should sponsor you. Also understand
where the money is spent and the cost from providing equipment to teams, training
courses and supporting conferences. Advise people to visit our website

Making success of the 'Sponsorship' form
- Start fundraising as soon as possible and carry your sponsorship form on you at all times - you never know
- Use the Mountain Rescue - England and Wales sponsorship form, which
you will receive after signing the Fundraisers Agreement and Event
Registration Form. You may photocopy the form if you run out of space
- Enlist the help of others. Encourage family, friends and work colleague
to collect sponsorship on your behalf. Give them a copy of the sponsorship
form..
- Make a list of those you wish to ask (family, friends, work colleagues
etc). Then you won't forget anyone.
- Always get your friends and family to write their sponsorship amount
on the sponsorship form first - they tend to be the most generous and
they set the standard for everyone who sees the form after them.
- Be easy to contact. Ensure your contact details are clearly marked
on the sponsorship form.
- Ask people to give you the money straight away - this will save a lot
of time after the event. If necessary, give people a piece of paper
promising to return the money if you don't complete the event. Also,
always carry change with you - that way, people can't claim not to have
the right money on them!
- Encourage them to tick the GIFT AID box and include their full name
and homes address as this allows us to claim Gift Aid. That's allows
us to get an extra 28p of every pound.
- Promote your event by using the different forms of media - radio, newspaper
and local television station.
- If your employer is a member of a matched giving scheme, ask them to match the amount you have raised.
