The Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO) covers Derbyshire and areas of Yorkshire, the surrounding counties and includes the second busiest national park in the world.

The seven teams deal with some 200 incidents a year in terrain ranging from the high moors of Bleaklow and Kinder Scout, the steep dales of the White Peak, the gritstone climbing edges to the rural areas around the towns. Recent years have also seen team members using their mountain rescue skills to assist the emergency services with severe flooding in urban areas such as Sheffield.

Member teams are Buxton MRT, Derby MRT, Edale MRT, Glossop MRT, Kinder MRT, Oldham MRT, Woodhead MRT, working alongside SARDA and the Derbyshire CRO.
