61 year old woman rescued near Scarth Gap

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called on Tuesday 15th August at 17:00 to a 66 year old lady from North Yorkshire who had fallen on the descent from Scarth Gap, near Buttermere, sustaining a head injury.  

She was treated by the Team and Team doctor, before being stretchered to the TeamLand Rover Ambulance for the short journey down the Warnscale track to Gatesgarth Farm where she was handed over to a NWAS land ambulance and taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.  

The rescue involved 21 members of the Team and lasted around 3 hours.
