DERBY MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAM ALL SET FOR CATHEDRAL ABSEIL

Derby Mountain Rescue team are holding a Charity Abseil down the sixty-five metre (two hundred and twelve feet) historic Derby Cathedral Tower, on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October, 2017.

This event is jointly organised by Derby Mountain Rescue Team and Derby Cathedral Chapter and is for individuals, groups or organisations. It’s a great opportunity to abseil this beautiful cathedral and is perfect for a personal challenge or team building exercise. All proceeds raised by this event will be shared between Derby Mountain Rescue Team and Derby Cathedral Chapter. Derby Mountain Rescue Team members will be in attendance at the top and base of the Tower, throughout the weekend. You’ll be provided with all the equipment and instruction required.

There is a entrance fee of £25 and you will be asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £100 per person. Those abseiling need to be fourteen years of age or over on the day of the abseil.

If you would like to support the causes but don’t wish or are unable to abseil – you can either nominate someone to abseil on your behalf or we can nominate someone for you.

We’re aiming for one hundred and twenty-five descents over the weekend, so hurry and sign up to secure your place now. You can register and find out more information online via our website www.derbymrt.org.uk/abseil, or call 01332 986565 (Mon-Fri 8.30 - 4.30) or email abseil@derbymrt.org.uk.
