Walkers rescued in white out conditions on Pendle Hill

Three walkers were escorted from Pendle Hill, Lancashire, on Sunday (12th) after they rang police to say they were stranded on top of the hill. The party had ascended ealrier in the day but become disorientated when blizzard conditions combined with low cloud descended during the afternoon.

The group's location was obtained by the police, using SARLOC, and the team rang the party to ask them to stay where they were but get into whatever shelter they could find nearby.

Members of Rossendale & Pendle MRT ascended the hill from two directions and the party was located, checked over and escorted from the hill to waiting team vehicles at Pendle House Farm.
