Fundraising
How we raise funds
We raise money to support the work of the national body and the individual rescue teams across England and Wales. Examples of how the money has been spent in recent years include the provision of casbags, vacmats and ropes to every team; nationally run training courses in topics as diverse as rigging for rescue, search management and media awareness; the development of a Casualty Care curriculum and examination; and the research and development of a new stretcher. And there are currently plans to roll out GPS tracking facilities to every team in England and Wales.
The more money we are able to raise centrally, the more we can support the teams and their members, but we rely very much on the goodwill and generosity of you, our public. We are extremely grateful to those groups or individuals who raise money for us through fundraising events, so if you would like to support the work of mountain rescue, here's how.
Organise your own event
This will not only provide funding for mountain rescue but will raise awareness. There are lots of wonderful activities you can organise in aid of Mountain Rescue. Even though a fundraising event might seem daunting, with lots of enthusiasm, commitment and support you will find the experience enjoyable and very rewarding. Take a look at our guide to organising an event.
Join an established event
