Issue 55 Mountain Rescue Winter 2016
Oh my word, we reached a bumper issue for this one, up to 68 pages. The copy date assumed a whole new elasticity too, to accommodate as much news and images as possible from a remarkable December and January of water, water and more water, with mountain rescue’s flood response centre stage. The Ogwen team became the latest to celebrate fifty years in the rescue business, topping a year of celebrations with a seminal (and, ultimately, TGO Book of the Year award-winning) history book. Author Judy Whiteside gave a brief summary here. The book is available, incidentally, through the MREW shop. We also had a comprehensive summary of the 2015 Medical Seminar from Les Gordon and a report from Paul Taylor on improving cave to surface comms in cave rescue.
