Bob Sharp looked at the social history behind the development of mountain rescue teams, Lyle Brotherton reported on his work with Project Melampus and the ‘seven deadly sins of bias in incident management’ and, in the lakes, John Barry looked at command and control for rescues and civil emergencies such as flooding.
