Past, Present and Future of MREW Data:

Paul joined Bolton MRT in 2006, wanting to give something back after many years of walking and climbing in the Peak District and Staffordshire Moorlands. No sooner in the team he volunteered to help edit the team website and went to hold the ITC, secretary and assistant team leader roles. In 2022, he was elected chair of Mid-Pennine Search and Rescue Organisation and, in 2023, took on the role of MREW Statistics Officer. Professionally, he has a strong IT and data background, and is keen to expand on our ability to build a data-informed narrative on the people we help.

Paul will be looking at the importance of collecting statistical data from our mountain rescue call-outs and incidents, and updating on the progress he’s made thus far.
